The pink dress has one side of velcro that is red and the other side is green - maybe a minor issue if the dresses were of any decent quality.

The house is big and has three stories, 6 rooms and a deck to fill it up. Not all the furniture will fit into the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor. So you may have to put those to the side. House comes completely built only thing you need to do it add the "gates". Wished the ladder had a hook or something to hang on it just keeps falling down. Most of the windows open which is great. Why does Mattel insist on poking a hole through every fine fabric costume on collectible dolls with a needle and thread or plastic t-tie? Just try to remove the doll from the box without having a snag in the fabric. I struggled to remove the doll without pulling the t-ties through the fabric. It made two holes/snags in each pleat in the FRONT of the gown. The doll dress is simply too long to fit in the box without wrinkling.

After the millions of dolls they have sold, could their staff devise a way to keep the doll in the box without having to sew the dress to the box?

I think this product is very imaginative and durable. The only reason I gave durability four stars instead of five is because there are some small parts that come off (they are meant to), sometimes my daughter needs help putting them back on, but as far as the toy is made, it's made very durably. I'm sure this toy is intended for children older than two, but we gave this toy to my daughter when she turned two because she had played with it at a toy store, and she LOVES this toy. She's now had it for six months and she still plays with it all the time. The rabbit family and baby rabbit twins accompanied the house when we gave it to her (purchased separately). It is expensive, but my daughter has definitely gotten our money's worth out of it. There are some smaller pieces that you'll want to remove if your child gets easily frusterated or is still younger than three or maybe even four (such as the very charming little baby mobile on the 2nd floor, which is in four parts). Calico Critters Living Room Set Decide Now

This is a decent, rather plain, living room set for your Calico Critters. The set includes a couch, rocking chair, bookcase, and accessories, all sized for your Critter families.

My girls (age 5 & 8) play with their Critters often, but have more families than dollhouses, so I'm always looking for ways to help with the living situations. I bought this living room to set up in an old Fisher Price barn - I thought the Critters could sleep in the hayloft, and have a living room in the barn. These pieces fit the bill, because they are small (the couch measures 4 1/8 inches wide) and there are only 3 pieces of furniture - enough to fill out a room, but not overcrowd it.

The couch seats 2 and is rather austere - it actually reminds me of a church pew. The arms/sides are tan plastic, and the seat and back are covered in a green print canvas. There is nothing plush about it - the canvas feels like it was stretched over a frame. So far it's doing well, but I must admit I wonder if a puncture is in it's future. Hopefully not! The seat of the couch is deep enough that most (maybe all) of the Critters should be able to sit on it. We have the Mulberry Racoons, which have big, fluffy tails, and 2 of them can indeed sit on the couch together. The rocking chair is made of the same tan plastic - plain, but sturdy, with a little decorative cut-out on the back. The bookcase, again that same tan plastic, has a shelf sized to hold the included books, and 2 working lower drawers with gold metal handles. The accessories include six plastic books with colorful covers (my daughters LOVE these!), a small lantern and 2 picture frames with 10 pictures to display. I tossed the pictures and frames before I even showed them to my kids - the frames have adhesive on the back to attach them to a wall, but I thought that would just ruin the barn.

The price of this furniture might be a little high, but it is a nice quality. Probably just right for playing with - not junky, but not collectible miniatures either.

Bottom line - like most of our Calico Critters playthings, my girls and I are happy with the purchase.
